![]() | how to build sub-domains...Hey there, i have bought a domain in godaddy and hosted my website in Portugal hosting provider. so now i want to create a dedicated subdomain to get it ranked on google. It is possible? And how can I do it? Do I need to pay anything? and can I rank it aside from the main domain or it sticks together in the results page? I'm sorry if this questions seem confusing... thanks.

| Romper Stomper | Your hosting will have a control panel. In there you will find an option to create sub domains providing, of course, that your hosting package allows you to do so. This depends on your host and if they allow it. A sub domain is like freeiphone.yourdomain.com freexbox360.yourdomain.com etc etc Each and every one of these sub domains are treated as a separate website completely from your main domain and will need working on as if they are completely different domains, which they are.

| What to put... | No it won't be displayed together with your main domain, sub-domains carry their own weight and optimisation will need to be worked on for both.

| Romper Stomper | No, they are not sub domains. They are other pages on the main domains website that google thinks are trusted and informational enough to warrant extra promotion through search results. For sub domains think like weebly... freeiphone.weebly.com freedsi.weebly.com freelaptop.weebly.com strippersrus.weebly.com are all subdomains of weebly.com Think about the authority that weebly have, now if you opened a site through them then you would still have to work on it just like it was a new domain.
