quickfreeiphone.com | WOT Reputation Scorecard | WOT (Web of Trust)
My site has $h!t reputation and the comments link me to other actual scams: Gift Programs: promotions | offers | surveys | rewards | coupons | Forum | WOT (Web of Trust)

Really pi$$ed off that people write this stuff with nothing to back it up. Tempted to write to WOT and explain and see if they'll understand or do anything!

Would appreciate any supporting comments on WOT if you're in the mood, though not requesting you do.

It's just so fu**ing annoying when you're trying to tell people everything is legit and they go and do some research and come back saying "WOT says it's a scam..."

chill out, you are always going to get people saying that, its just the nature of the freebie industry, its hardly going to affect your conversions, probably 1 in 20,000 visitors would actually bother to look at that.

They list all the FreebieJeebies and Kudosnetwork sites in there as Scam sites too so going to make it more difficult than ever before.

I'm afraid this time I'm not going to chill out! The Web of trust is supposed to tell you which sites you can trust... it obviously doesn't.

If went and search "Amazon Affiliate Program" would it come back with SCAM?! No. Well nor should this. I understand the freebie scene suffers from people who don't understand, but for trusted websites to turn around and say that it's untrustworthy is shocking.

I'd normally shrug this off, but with conversions the way they are at the moment we have to do everything we can to prove that these sites are legit and trustworthy!

I think you need to take some deep breaths MJ10!

I can't see that it will make a scrap of difference myself, the vast majority of users (me included) won't even have heard of WoT. There have always been non believers, the reason that ratios are down right now is purely and simply the lack of attractive offers.

A lot of our sites get the same WoT rating as yours, all down to poor ratings by the exact same users, posting in the exact same chronology. Coincidenc? Or competitor?

I honestly don't care about what WOT thinks of my site... I'm more worried about the longevity of FJ and Kudos! I know there are always haters, but with things going the way they are the freebie scene could be dead in 2 years! (Dramatic "dun dun duuuuuun"!) But I'm serious. Something needs to be done to improve the understanding and trust of these sites.

Yup, that's just the way it is.

The only thing I've ever done to try and prove the legitimacy of the process is a proof page but I can't imagine that holds much sway, or even gets read that often.

I've given up trying to convince people, if they don't believe it then move on to others that might do.

It's a simple numbers game.

Even I've never heard of Web of Trust before.. Anyways, sgll is right. Even my relatives don't get the fact that this all stuff is legit, leave alone stranger visitors to my websites. We may try our best to explain people about free stuff, but the mentality of human beings drilled with "free stuff doesn't exist" will always prevail...

I will step back...

It's just surprising how many of these will people will firstly say it's a scam and they'll never touch it, then probably go and buy something online via someone's Amazon ref link, or use a promo code that has enticed them to buy something... and they won't even realise the irony!

It's not that anyone's telling you to step back with your plan on informing WoT about this, it's just that not many people know about WoT. I've been an active Internet user since years, but haven't even heard of it once. Just not worth wasting all the time explaining WoT about how it goes & everything..

Around a third of the people on the internet believe the first thing they see on the internet (I know this because I was one of them lol), in this case they have done 5 minutes worth of research and have come up with the conclusion that FJ or Kudos are scams. These people aren't even worth complaining about, there are people like this on the internet and there always will. Writing to WOT will only work as a short term solution and in my opinion isn't worth it.

We should work on converting what can be converted instead of wasting time complaining about things we can't change.

WOT is merely an example. I did a quick look through similar sites and it's all the same.

If you do the research you either get 1: lots of our sites selling the dream 2: everyone saying it's a scam. The research is far more orientated towards the idea of a scam. And that's mainly because people have tried to break the rules, got caught and spread it across the net!

If I had the time, energy and skills I'd suggest we set up a massive Web of Trust style website aimed more at outing the actually scam sites and explaining the trustworthy ones!

Freebiejeebies should contact WoT. I thought telling lies about a company was against the law?

It's the whole saying of 'If it's too good to be true, it probably is'. Let's face it, we probably all thought the same thing and when you first type in freebiejeebies into google a suggestion is 'freebiejeebies scam', that doesn't give a great first impression, next you have the 'hack videos' and other sites that promote illegal activities..

Ultimately it's the freebie community that spread the views of scams, it starts with one member feeling he's being cheated and flaming on forums (we all know it too well) and the nature of the how it works.

Unless you have large amounts of money to invest in professional marketing like swagbucks and lockerz have done then it's pretty hard to push the truth out without small chatter claiming it's scam. The way freebie networks promote themselves is by word of mouth, this is where you get information which people give to each other which differs and causes confusion.

Conclusion, it may only work short term for limited traffic but the damage has been done i think.

let's face it, I had never heard of this WOT site before this thread so joe average will prob never hear of it.
Let the sad little men get on with their web patrols and ignore them.
We know the sites we use are 100% legit only people losing out are the ignorant and those who just cant believe you would get free stuff for a little hard work.

Of course your site is not a scam, but it's difficult to argue with them calling you a spammer lol.
