Giving up on freebies...

So i've decided to take the plunge and switch freethegadgets.com over to a blog only site. This means i'll pretty much be out of the freebie game as it's my only site that really brings in any greens.

I've been earning increasingly more from affiliate offers recently with freebiejeebies conversions the lowest they've ever been, so it makes sense to convert the site into a full-time tech blog... something i've been thinking about for a while, as in the long-term with new quality content everyday the rewards should be much greater.

It's something i've put a lot of thought into and am convinced this is the right decision. The new theme will be gone too, have a new theme on the way which is looking great and a new logo.

Obviously one of my concerns is my SERPs, I imagine they're going to take a bit of a hit as i'll not be targeting them anymore. Though i'm hoping with me posting new content everyday it will make up for that in no time.

What are your thoughts? Good decision or not? Does anyone else make money from blogging?

Personally I think it's a great idea if it brings in more than FreebieJeebies, however it definitely will take a while to get started. If you need any graphics, I can give you a hand, although other people can probably do them better lol.

Cheers, i'll give you a shout if I need anything. Hoping it'll bring in more than freebiejeebies. I started freebiejeebies as a hobby which turned into a nice income but has slowed down a lot recently and since then have been making better money through affiliate offers.

Is something i've been looking to do for a while and having graduated in May and still looking for a job, finally have the time to commit to it. Will see how things go over the coming months but am pretty confident I can generate much more traffic through blogging. As they say 'Content is King!'

Is your sig total up to date? If so then massive congrats on the £11,000+ worth of freebies! And good luck with the affiliate side (something I am considering too!)

yup wont be long till i quit too. im not running a website with poor conversions. just not worth it. im with many cpa networks so will use what i can find there. sad i know but hey. no greeens for months but plenty reds. something not right for sure.

You can make a big profit from a successful blogs, make sure not to overload the blog with affiliate links, but put enough in Keep the content unique and relevant and user interaction is key.

Yep, it's unfortunate how things have slowed down but I guess it's thanks to doing freebies for so many years that i've got into CPA offers and all sorts of other things. If you do switch over to CPA offers best of luck!

Yup, have not took this decision lightly but have realized with a good looking website and lots of quality content on a daily basis there's good money in blogging, will know better over the coming months!

Yea i'll always be about exceem whatever i'm doing and have always got my other sites still going even if they don't really get any traffic.
