  | You'll get ranked quicker as Google will spot you quicker. It depends on which keywords you are targeting. |

| I haven't bought any. I just used the search function to find blogs. I thought it was better if the backlinks were targeted, but I'd wait until someone in the know posts. |

| There are too many factors involved to say that you need X backlinks to rank top. Relevancy, link placement, anchor text, dofollow/nofollow, country... Those are just a few things to take into account when looking for backlinks. You will get what you pay for. Make sure the domain you're buying a link on is indexed by Google. If it's not, the link is 100% worthless.

| Download the quick searchstatus plugin for firefox here: SearchStatus | Firefox SEO Toolbar Extension With it you can see pagerank, alexa rank and can highlight nofollow link. You also have quick links to whois, yahoo backlink check and other things.

| Nice, obviously they must have propelled you up the rankings, if you havn't been doing seo yourself it's unlikely you got that high by chance.

| Um no how can he of bought backlinks half hour ago and they propellesd him up the rankings? Unless you bought really strong backlinks which were indexed every min, (maybe?!) But it would take days to go up or weeks! For backlinlinks to make a diff they need to be cached, ( when google caches the site again)

| 500-1000 backlinks for £10!?! They will surely not be quality and will likely be forum posts that will get deleted out by an active mod. |
