Need guidance

Hi,

due to the fact that it's very common to have own website I also decided to make one. Right now I cannot decide between a blog or some free hosting like webs.com. I'd appreciate any tips/theoretical help/consultancy :P

I would personally go with a blog. I think that it's easier to rank with a host/domain that people tend to have good websites with, not one like webs as those types of sites come and go and don't really have much reputation.

If you're serious, get a blog, and then link a website, or the other way around, but I wouldn't go for free sites. That's just me, I'm sure other people have different views.

I wondered if your sites are manually written by you or you used some programs to do it instead? Cause I found an option to customize my html code but I don't remember the html thing very well right now

If you want to make a site from scratch, or customise a template, try KompoZer - Easy web authoring

It's a free WYSIWYG editor that allows you to work in a text-editor like format as well as work directly with the html code.

That's what i meant, i just find it easier to do through KompoZer. It lets you see the effect of coding changes directly on the site while you make modifications.

Well it turned out to be xml and I'm afraid that KompoZer doesn't support xml format. I've found kED 2.1.4.0 editor. They say it works with XHTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, VBScript, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, WML. I will also check out openoffice.org maybe there's something intresting.

Ok now. As I can rest from my physics olympiad for about a month and a half I had some time to at least write some text to my blog. I would like you to take a look at it and give me some advice about how can I improve it. Thanks in advance :P link in sig, pardon no pics

Yes! It's complete. I decided to keep it in white-black-golden/brown colors and I think it looks good. Now I have to find out how to place that banner in the centre of the screen and I can begin my campaign :P
