Google showing wrong meta description

Hi, just wondering if anyone could help me with this. Basically my site finally got indexed by google on friday and so to test the results i simply typed "freegiftlinks.co.uk" into the search bar to specifically find my site. All the pages are indexed there with their individual meta descriptions EXCEPT the main page which still lists the meta description for the domain holding, before I bought hosting.

Is this just a glitch which will be resolved with time or is there something I need to do to fix this? Is it because all the other pages are new and so it took the description from them right from the start, but because my root site was up from before while it was holding it's keeping that data?

I thought it might be the latter but when i click the 'cached' option next to the result for my main page it comes up with my correct page as cached on 10th july - so it should have got the correct meta description.

Is it also maybe to do with the difference between freegiftlinks.co.uk/ and /index.html? There is no search result listed for my index.html page, only my root site which i think is because i added a 301 redirect to redirect all index.html requests to / as apparently this can be picked up as duplicated content - have i done it wrong?

it could be just some of your content cached. give it another week (maybe less) and the title and description should update

SOmetimes if I update my meta desc google.com shows the new desc and google.co.uk shows the old desc. Just takes a while to update.
