ok thought id post another thread, this time its to do with social bookmarking. now some of you may know about them already so obviously this may not be for you. but anyways. Social bookmarking is a powerful tool in promoting a website, and everyone should be doing it.

and seeing as there is literally loads of sites out there you can use. i thought id post a site that is good for the job. Social bookmarking service. Fast tagging and posting to all major social websites - SocialMarker.com have a look and get the idea of what the site does first.

yes the bad thing is you will have to create 48 accounts on various social bookmarking sites. so its best to stay with same user and email etc for each site.. once you have regd with each site. save the list into notepad. usernames and pass etc

then all you do is goto Social bookmarking service. Fast tagging and posting to all major social websites - SocialMarker.com then enter your bookmark details. ie your site or a page from your site. enter title and desc and tags (keywords).

tick the boxes for sites you want to submit to and then press submit. this site will take you to each site and then enter your details for you. you just have to click and enter cpatchas here n there. saves alot of time once you have accs on all sites. thats the only boring part but is needed and can help your site.

so go check it out and have a go yourself. its free and a very good tool for your sites

Here's another good one I use: Social bookmarking services poster and community websites submitter: digg.com reddit.com netscape.com propeller.com Del.icio.us Stumbleupon.com etc.

I have done a few of these but never sat down and gone through the lot. I have a spare email account aswell so I think later, if I get time before the missus gets here, then I will sign up to the lot and start bookmarking!

Cam I just ask, is it something one should do once, weekly, monthly? Cheers!

upto you how often you do it. i tend to do it for new pages on site etc. or any new info.. but yeh join the lot lol and dont worry about the rep. i wont hold it against you haha

I just noticed that they're not all dofollow... does this matter?

I supose the nonfollow posts you make would just hopefully generate traffic and the dofollow would help with seo!

I wouldn't expect any decent traffic from social networking sites, what you have to remember a link is a link at the end of the day, so its extra exposure

Man this social bookmarking stuff is confusing!!

edit: also, I don't get how something like Social bookmarking services poster and community websites submitter: digg.com reddit.com netscape.com propeller.com Del.icio.us Stumbleupon.com etc. works! I filled in the title/info/etc selected some sites then clicked "start posting", which didn't really work... so then I clicked "submit to social networks", which didn't really work either!

So do I have to sign up and submit to each one individually? I thought you could sign up to them all, then click that "start posting button" which would then submit your site/comment to all of them at once???!!?!

Nice one, you can check how many views your digg submission has had. Just go to your profile, and click the article. I always twitter my digg article, as the views go from 2, to around 30

On another point, I think I just found the way around SPY. [Things in brackets don't show up] but everything else does!

If I'm right then that's the solution for people posting stuff about games/TV shows so they don't get seen in Spy!

Only noticed this as my post 2 above didn't show up and it's in []!!

I would agree, expect most people won't be able to afford this "method" as it's "Just a one-time payment of $97".

Seems fairly expensive, or is this the sort of costs I should look at to make it worth it?!!

Not worth it for $97. Maybe pretty useful on generating traffic for a big affiliate site or something though.
