so the webmaster just sees a smiley, when in actual fact, there is a hidden link.

e.g.

Lil tip there
Surely with that tactic you get no anchor text?

It doesn't full screen but as soon as you make the window like half screen all the text overlaps

I shouldn't have to get used to it, being nice to another person shouldn't be a privilege! I have done nothing to you, I respected you until that comment...it seems this forum is split between those members who are eliteist and don't respect new people and those people, the vast majority, who are out of their way helpful and polite to those who, in the freebie world, are inferior to them (electrogirl, djoscar, mj10 to name a few!)...

Wasn't really necessary. He wasn't even asking for comments on his website here. Even if you thought the site was the worst you have ever seen, there is a difference between:

1) it looks ****

and

2) it looks really bad and would probably convert a lot better with some work

The difference is that 1) is aggravating and generally nasty, whereas 2) is saying it how it is.

If a fat person asked you how they looked, you wouldn't tell them they were a fat ****er, you would tell them they would look better if the lost a few pounds. That is, if you are (as you claim) saying it how it is!

I would personally be careful about:

1. The anchor text that you use in the name field of comments. A lot of Webmasters prefer real names rather than "Free blah blah". Take a look at what others have used and gauge what might be acceptable.

2. Leaving links in the body of a comment. Again, it varies from blog to blog but the risk is it will be marked as spam.

Get it wrong and you may get caught by Akisment.

Furb

PS - another way to get details of relevant blogs is Google Alerts.
For those people who used Google Chrome. SeoQuake is now available for it.

When you type that in, are you putting it in the "Visual" bit or the "HTML" bit.
