Tips When Buying A Domain And Setting Up A Site

hi all. ive not seen this mentioned on here so thought id post to let yall know.. if its been posted already then im sorry. i just didint see it thats all and please delete this thread.

Anyways when you are ready to set up a website or blog. you will go and buy a domain, correct? ok so now heres some good tips for when your buying a domain and setting up a site..

first we will goto https://adwords.google.co.uk/select/KeywordToolExternal and do some keyword research for freebies and see what other people are looking for on the web.

type in whatever your site will be about.. free ps3, free wii, free ds, free psp and so on.. have a go and enter some of these terms one by one and look at the results you get. for example. when i type in "free wii" i see a result that gets searched for over 22k times a month "free nintendo wii" or under that there is also "wii for free".

ok so now you have some results in front of you. pick which ones you think are related to your site or offer.

open a new window and goto this address Domain Name Search and start typing in the first result you like. ie for this example i will start to type wiiforfree with no spaces. and on doing so you will see whether or not that domain is available. as i write this. wiiforfree.org is available and is a great domain.. why? because its keyword rich and google love these..

if your keyword is in your domain aswell it will improve your rankings and you will reach the right audience in time with some backlink building and so on..

but yeh thats it. always always buy domains that are kwyord rich with your item or search results.. use the above tools to help you.. if you still do not understand then ask away and ill see what can do for you

NONO!!

I just read this and it's pointed out several things I failed to do when I set up my website! Wish this had been around earlier.

My website domain is Love Free Gifts - Free iPhone 3Gs, Xbox and more gifts which I thought sounded pretty good, but it's not keyword rich and I didn't do too well at google rankings!

I've spent a bit too much money on promoting this domain though to really change it, having done posters, business cards (lots of them!) and spent about 1year promoting it (still with no success in google but a little around mates!)

LEARN FROM ME PEOPLE AND FOLLOW THIS GUIDE!

actually i wasnt using my site for these greens as it was a site in the making. its up now though finally. i had to wait for my graphics designer to do a job for me. but yeh i stick to this guide all the time when making or setting up new sites/blogs

uhh, what's wrong with .eu? I'm trying to register a domain and at 123-reg almost all .eu prics are 97p for a year, bargain!

So why are they this low, does google not like europe?

It might be more the case of 123-reg selling it for a first year that low and hoping you will also sign up to be hosted by them?

Or maybe after the first year, the price will increase a lot more.

It's a promotion.
After the promo is over the price of a .EU goes back up to the normal price of £9.99 so next year they will know that if anyone has a good site they will pay the renewal.
