Xbox 360 or PS3 ?

I am thinking of having some hardcore gaming this year, so which console should I get PS3 or the Xbox 360 ?

Why start this thread again seriously? No offense to the OP but its the same answer every time: it all comes down to personal preference and what you will want to use out of both consoles features more.

To be fair i think the Playstation 3 would be the better bet regardless of how many fans the XBox has.

XBox Live online play is a subscription feature an for rull use obviously you need to pay annually.

Playstation Network is the same thing but free to anyone

XBox 360's play 360 games, DVD's, Audio CD's, USB Audio/Video.

PS3's play PS3 games, PS1 Games (PS2 Games on some models i think?), DVD's, Audio CD's, Blu-Ray Discs, USB Audio/Video.

But yeah.. It's really down to personal choice

Don't forget that Xbox 360 and XBL *works*, whereas PS3 frequently doesn't :P
Ok now I'm fanboying.

PS3 getting Steam and it's associated games ported over (although I don't know how many) is something very exciting, and something that frustrates me a lot as an Xbox owner. Could be really awesome.

I've owned a PS3 for years and the only time I've been unable to access PSN / go online etc is when PSN got hacked and Sony closed it down a few months ago.

Even if it not working frequently was true (which in my experience it certainly isn't) at least it is absolutely free to go online, you can't say that for Xbox!

same answer as i gave last time get both.

xbox for online gaming far better than the ps3

and get the ps3 for blueray and gran turismo 5 but then again blu ray players are so cheap now, just get the xbox as the online wee's all over the ps3 and yes i had cod on both to see the differance on the ps3 it was ****.

I have to agree it is personal preference.

I would also so that if your friends had ps2's then they would get ps3's. That happened for all of my friends. We all have ps3's now. Its also the cheapest blu ray player. that has gaming capabilities.

And all the problems I've heard about of people being sent rage messages from randoms because they've beaten them in game have been on xbox live.
