I desperately need help, Windows 7/Java Problem....

I turned on my new computer (got it last Saturday) and had to install some Java updates. After I had installed them I tried to go on Steam but when it started up it said 'Steam has stopped working' then I tried with some other programmes, here is a list of the ones which don't work:

When I go on Youtube it says 'Shockwave Flash Player has crashed'
Steam + Games
Minecraft (On loading it says Java Platform SE Binary has stopped working)
Skype
Unity 3D
VideoPad Video Editor
Debut Video Capture Software (But Hypercam 3 still works)

I did get the Adobe Master Collection Yesterday. I tried updating Steam and Skype but that didn't work?

Can anyone help?

I would post on the Steam forums you might get better help there.

failing that, roll back to a previous version from windows restore.

for some reason all my windows restore points have been deleted I checked yesterday and there were a tonne but today there is only one from this morning which doesn't really help.

Re-install java?

Generally restore points only go missing if you have a virus.

I have reinstalled java many times i havent done much on my computer so i think i will reinstall windows

Tried a virus scan? The problem is that it's done the damage already.

You can fix steam by deleting the file: 'clientregistry.blob' , you will find it in the root directory of your steam folder. Then when you next start steam it will update to the latest version again, but you will need to enter your username and password the first time.
