![]() | Mac people! - I need your helpOk so I got my mac, all well and good - My uni course is predominantly windows based..go figure. I have heard about bootcamp but I was wondering if anyone has a guide on how to set up windows (7) on a mac using bootcamp step by step. I have no idea how it works I havent done anything other than set the mac up - so that is the stage I am at Thanks all!

| I got eXtra. YAY | first you need a copy of windows 7, all you have to do is launch bootcamp and follow the instructions, its actually quite easy.

![]() | Search bootcamp somewhere. Pretty sure it's called bootcamp assistant on your applications or utilities. It's literally so easy to do. And pretty handy. Pm me if you get stuck but it's so simple. |

| What to put... | I use VMWare Fusion, allows you to run a virtual server while still in mac, for what you need it's prob not the best option as it runs slowly with both running. Bootcamp is probably the best option and can be done via utilities under applications.

| iPod 20gb | I recommend VMware Fusion rather than bootcamp. This will allow you to run windows simultaneously with Mac OSX and do things such as drag and drop between them or combine them together by running them in unity, rather than re-booting to switch all the time. EDIT: Beat me to it ryan

![]() | I second Parallels for general use, but if you're considering anything graphics heavy then Bootcamp is the way to go. With Parallels it works alongside OSX on the fly and takes up space if and when needed. With Bootcamp you have to set up a partition - done during Bootcamp setup. Bootcamp then utilises the systems full capability whereas Parallels is sharing the system with OSX. |
