 | Advice minimizing PC games to taskbarIm a gamer both on PC and PS3 but although PC gives me better graphics I prefer playing games on PS3 as I can easily pause, leave the game on and watch TV then switch the channel back when I want to play. I was hoping maybe somebody knew a way of doing this for PC games in a reliable way. Currently when I'm playing a PC game with high graphics like Deus Ex: Huamn Revolution, or Borderlans etc.... I can minimize to the taskbar but even my machine isn't powerful enough to let this be a viable option - either it'll end up crashing when I switch back to it or I won't be able to get any sound back when I reopen it. Is this something to do with switching from full screen game to Windows and back or would a more powerful machine do this without problem? Any knowledge/advice appreciated thanks

 | A lot of the time that happens to me but only when I'm playing through Steam. If I was playing a non-Steam game I can alt+tab out no problem. Are you playing through Steam?

| mostly through Steam yes but also I have other games like GTA IV and a couple others. I've not considered that though. Possibly could be the Steam ones only. My machine is an 'octo-core' Intel processor with 12Gb RAM, 250Mb GTX 285 graphics and i play all games with high graphics and full screen 1080 on an external 50" TV. Also whenever I play such a game I close all other applications before launching (except perhaps notepad or something low resource like that - never movie files though - but ideally I'd love to be able to switch between a 1080p movie file and a high-res game without any problems but if its merely an issue of computer power or not enough grpahcis memory or any system limitation i would understand im just curious really as its been an annoyance for quite some time and never thought to find out why I couldn't do this with ease - I assumed its too much for even a good GFX card like mine but I've really no idea

| I always press the windows button which opens the start menu and minimises whatever's full screen.
