![]() ![]() ![]() | Help with PC speakersThey are basic Creative stereo speakers for a desktop PC, with a line-out input. Im using Win 7 but despite having them connected to the laptop's line-out port the PC doesn't recognise them AT ALL. I go into Sound settings and its not listed as enabled OR disabled, in device manager i update the onboard sound card drivers (says they're already up-to-date) and the speakers are on and came with no driver CD so they should be plug and play) yet my new copy of Windows 7 just doesn't notice any difference between when they are plugged in or not. I guess what I need is to know how to 'enable' the line-out socket for my lappy's sound card? I assumed it would just work right away. My USB headset does but these are nice 3.5mm jack speakers and Windows doesn't even seem to notice the PC has a line-out port! Any advice would be very helpful thanks all

![]() ![]() ![]() | my inbuilt sound card is still working fine and it says drivers are up to date, but my line out is still not recognised. i suspect it may be related to the fact i just installed a standalone copy of Windows 7 on an Acer-built laptop which was designed for Windows Vista and had various Acer things pre-installed when I bought it a few years ago. Any ideas anyone? Thanks

| Mini Mac | Download the drivers from the soundcard/motherboard manufacturer's site, rather than letting Windows source them itself. Chances are you're probably selecting the wrong audio output in the control panel, post some screenshots? |
