404 Not Found...

Hello,

All of a sudden my website is not working... My links are now showing 404 Not Found... I have not changed anything in a while... I did some up dating today and nothing works...

Using Joomla 1.5 and RocketTheme template...

Any Suggestions would be fantastic...

Its the links that don't work... faq, contact etc...

Have you tried looking on your ftp server and seeing if the files are there?

I haven't touched any files, so they should be there... Don't know what is going on... Very puzzling!!

Just a shot in the dark but there could be a problem with the server from your host, hacking or whatever, a few possibilities causing you to lose the pages. Worth a look.

EDIT: Seems your homepage is not working now either.

If I try to access your site all I see is the "Akeeba Backup Installer" - best go look see what you need to restore and contact your host - there is usually a live chat feature for most hosts to get instant support or just raise a support ticket

Did you make any backups? If not what is your host? Sometimes they back up sites regularly.

Also do you have the site offline?

Got on my my host and i have lost files, which can not be retrieved so i will have to start my whole site again as there are missing parts of my database...

Unless someone can suggest something i can do with out deleting my whole site and starting from scratch...

Read above, contact your host as they make have regular back ups of your site or they may be able to retrieve it.

I did and this was there reply:

Im afraid we can no longer retrieved deleted items from the server and there is no way of getting back those files that you have deleted.

servers from your hoster may be down. Happened to me before. Contact them and they will fix it.

I may have some help but I cant really check as I'm using a phone.

Anyway, search google for "cool freebies" and it will probably be top. You should see a few options including "cached", if you click that option it will show you what your site looked like a few days ago. Right click your mouse on your home page and you should see an option saying "view source" or similar.

This will show you the code for this page and hopefully you can use that if you have no back up. Do similar searches for the other pages on your site and do the same again.

You may have to find the images again and possibly the stylesheets (css) files.
