Scrapebox is ****e for posting backlinks, over subscribed and most sites have now applied protection.
Sites with hundreds of backlinks per page count for nothing and google see's all these links and see's them as spam. Do you want your link on the same page a spam ****e xxx links etc.

I still use scrapebox but don't use the proxies from sb. Don't use it too much but have the odd blast here and there.

I think these links now hold little value, along with profile links and forum signatures.

I would avoid using scrapebox as they'll count for nothing.

Whilst I don't think you'll be penalised for using it, the links will have no positive benefit either (or at least not for long).

Having said that, Scrapebox certainly has other uses.

ok, and before Harvez steps in and tells me I shouldn't need to be baby fed, I know! but what other types of link building are there other than blog posting, profile links and forum sigs. As well as my main SEO method which is article writing. What else can/should I be doing? any help would be appreciated.

I've never used anything like scrapebox, too spammy. Try finding your own links using search phrases in google, then they'll be relevent too.

Find the keyword you want to rank for. Find out what those sites above you are doing that you aren't. Then do it to a greater extent.

lol @ everyone saying its crap. i use scrapebox with great success. its all about how you use it and where you drop your links. ive not had any issues yet with any sites/blogspot blogs. just dont go posting thousands of links per day thats all.. as for proxies. you can get free ones from bhw forum. some users post daily them daily and where i get mine from. i dont bother using scrapebox to scrape proxies.

also make sure you check them in scrapebox before hand. get rid of bad ones before link posting. i dont see why everyone slating it when its a powerful tool if used correctly

thats the great thing about this keyword, everyone above me has a maximum of about 34 inbound links, the top spot however is a PR5 forum thread, and this thread pops up top for all of the related keywords.

the site has been online just under 2 weeks and im already 10th spot page 1

So i guess any SEO i do is better than the competition

You always start high when you register a new site, just don't go crazy with the links.

I am still gona keep the domain and company quiet incase I could come up with an alternative domain that is accepted, basically after doing a bit of research I found that "(company) scam" gets a lot of searches, so thought great its easy to get to top of google for that, so registered www.(company)scams.co.uk (which seems to still be live with my site at the moment) anyway so i applied for the affiliate program and it says in the program that they accept people using their trademark, even in your domain.

so this morning I get a formal complaint from the company, filed through nominet, saying I am illegally using their trademark, giving them a bad reputation, and basically forcing them to accept me onto their affiliate program, because if they don't I will get an affiliate program with their competitors and then say how they are a scam and to use XYZ instead.

so nominet let me put my argument forward then 10 mins later they have changed the owner of the site to that company.

so annoying as I bought a new hosting package, have now lost the domain, lost out on the chance for a lot of money too, they were paying £1 for every signup and about £7 for every sale, and if i reached top for all of the main keywords which looked pretty easy, there are about 25,000 exact uk searches on google a month. and I was already top of yahoo uk and page 1 for google uk for the main keyword

The best backlink methods is doing them all to keep things mixed up, using one single method wont hurt your site but will not give you the best results.

I hardly do any of my backlinking myself I purchase services from people I have used over the years to do the work for me, out sourcing is very easy and is what most people do (Even here!) and it's not that expensive.

Digital point forums, blackhat forum etc all have guys willing to write up articles and submit them for around $20. Blog commenting services, blog post services, social bookmarking, social networking services etc...

The hardest part is finding the decent services, ones that actually give value.

Scapebox is a really good tool if you know how to use it correctly, it's great for scraping high PR links for you to do manual postings on.

There is a lot of talk that forum profile links are not any good, though lots of people are having good results by boosting their profile links by getting them indexed with RSS feeds and pinging the profiles.

Just never give up, that's the best advice any one can give you, keep researching keywords, different backlink methods.
