| Mini Mac | Android Phone HelpI bought a LG Optimus One P503 phone yesterday, and it came with a lot of bloatware that I want to remove. It won't let me uninstall from the applications menu in settings though, so I was wondering how I could do that? Also, I don't have Android Market. Any idea how I could install that? Already viewed dozens of threads on xda forums, still nothing Any help would be appreciated! |

| free-gadgets.co.nr | It's impossible. The Market HAS to be there. Even I do own an Android. You can remove the bloatware by rooting. I could send you a PM regarding how to do it.... But instead you'll have to go green for me...

| Mini Mac | Got it in China (where I live) Quote:
Anyway I'm doing a software update on it right now, and I think that will resolve both problems, as it deletes everything on the phone. Will keep you guys updated. | |

| Mini Mac | OK so the update did not fix the problems. LG is a liar and the update did not really change anything. I have already rooted the phone, however the uninstall option for the apps in Settings is not working. Anybody know why? Thanks. EDIT: OK nvm, it unrooted itself after the update. Now z4root isn't working though, anybody know another way to root an Android phone? Last edited by Ojaser6; 04-05-11 at 08:56 AM.. |

| free-gadgets.co.nr | Okay. So.................... My question above had nothing to do with the answer! Try SuperOneClick. Download it on your PC. (IT IS A PC APP) Then, connect your phone to the PC. Make sure USB Debugging is enabled on your phone. Then open SuperOneClick, and click on root. You're done. If it's taking anything more than two minutes, stop the rooting and start all over again. EDIT: As far as moving the applications to SD rather than the Internal Memory, try Titanium Backup. It requires root access though. One more tip. Download AdFree which requires rooting. It will remove ALL ads from your phone including games. So, you can enjoy your Angry Birds without the irritating ads....

| Mini Mac | Thanks, but do you know how to delete the bloatware entirely? |
|

| free-gadgets.co.nr | No, mate. I tried to uninstall it in every manner possible. But it just doesn't work. So, I had to remove it using AndroZip and I didn't uninstall it. Straightaway deleted the files of the ones I didn't want.

| Mini Mac | Damn. Android is a pain, I prefer iOS lol |

| free-gadgets.co.nr | Mate, you really don't know the power of Android. You really would be shocked to see to what extent I've changed the UI of my phone. And before you say anything, that can't be done in iOS. Android is hugely open sourced. Use Resource Hacker for PC and connect your phone. You'll come to know what I meant to say. It's a totally new vista there.

| Mini Mac | OK I still can't get market installed. |

| Mini Mac | I think I have found the problem (but not the solution). I accidentally updated the LG software (not Android) in the phone, and that blocked z4root. Now I'm trying SuperOneClick, but for some strange reason it isn't working properly. So now I'm stuck with a phone that can't adb, which means I can't install Market. If anybody could help me on MSN, it would be greatly appreciated! |

![]() ![]() | Basically, you'll need to flash the phone with a European OS thingy ma bob because the Chinese ones don't cone with App Market. After you've flashed it, root it again, and if you want to get rid of the extra apps you'll have to kind of SSH into it and delete them manually. As to how to do each of these things, you'll have to google it. |

| What to put... | Like iFreezone said, just flash it with the latest version of android. Here you go: [3.May][cLK/MAGLDR] NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.7 [GRJ22/Android2.3.4][Kernel:tytung_r10] - xda-developers

| Mini Mac | However the European models are P500 and not P503, so I'm not sure if they'll work on my phone? I read on some forums that people tried it and it didn't work. |

| Mini Mac | OK got it sorted out myself, I had to install Clockworkmod and use that to install a custom ROM which had everything I needed. Thanks for all the tips though, definitely helped me along the way! Last edited by Ojaser6; 05-05-11 at 05:54 AM.. |
