USB Disk recovery

My girlfriend has been doing a lot of prep work for an interview next week and saved a lot of info on a pen drive - now when inserting the pen drive into the computer it says installing drivers then when you go to open it it says its not formatted and you need to format it to continue.

Obviously we havent formatted it - but is there now any way to recover what was on there before?

Any help greatfully received - THANKS!

might be to do with ntfs/fat32 formatting??? Was it to/from a mac?

Is it the same thing on all the computers? Or just that one? Happened to me once, but it was only one comp.

last worked ona win xp machine yesterday - today tried on my win 7 laptop and her in 7 laptop

xp is normally fat 32, windows 7 is ntfs....

just manage to perform a full recovery using some software i was given

I used it to recover files from a disk i'd formatted forgetting to save my photo's.
As long as the disk isn't actually written to again there should be no problem finding files, good that it works for corrupt drives as well
