Text donating on O2

I have £5.11 left on my O2 mobile but I want to transfer my number to another network. Rather than just loose the credit I was going to make a text donation to comic relief.

However I'm not sure I'll have enough credit. Obv. I need £5 for the donation but I'm not sure the 11p will be enough for the text as O2's website says texts cost 12p.

Can anyone confirm that's correct and if so, how can I get rid of the rest of my credit. I don't want O2 to get it

another option is the £1 text donation, just do it 4 times and then that will cost you £4.48 meaning less wastage put personally I would try the £5 donation and see if it goes ahead as I'm sure I've went over by a few pence before and the text went.

your credit would still be intact, you'd get some message telling you that you had insufficient funds, or words to that effect.

Or you might get billed the 1p? Prob not though seeing as your on PAYG.

I'm pretty sure (ages ago) when I was a few pence short it took the few pence back when I next topped up.

Sent a bunch of £1 texts

Although text cost was only 10p so I could just have sent the £5

Stupid mobile networks, it's impossible to find the correct bleedin information on their websites. Now I'm off to see if the gadget show has an open competition I could enter with the remaining 71p.
