No idea whats going on with the download though.
Until a few weeks ago it was always 48-51Mb.
Now it very rarely goes below 100Mb, but always very different results, never consistant.
Must admit I did use this test to show off a bit.
Don't want to ask Virgin about the upload though in case they realise something is wrong with download.
Lol, when you download something, do you actually get speeds up to 20Mbps? If you max out at around 6Mbps, then Speedtest is telling lies or you have Kaspersky internet security installed

Except from checking on speedtest sites, Iv'e no idea what my actual speeds are.
But if I buy Bluray disc with a digital download, I can download the whole movies in a few seconds.
Don't use Kaspersky, I use Avast.

No wonder I have trouble watching BBC iPlayer at work.
I think they keep it slow, hoping it will make us employees more productive

The 1:10 ratio is being rolled out at the moment and all areas will have been completed by about mid-way through the year. It is likely your area hasnt been upgraded though so 50mb service has a 1.5mb upload although it is actually sent as 1.7mb so that you achieve the 1.5mb more often.

I am intrigued by the download speeds though. We did trial 200mbps in Kent a year or so ago so some cmts's will be configured for 200mbps. You may have picked up a rogue confit file for the modem.

My speed did drop to about 15Mbs a few weeks ago and an engineer changed my modem to one of the superhubs.

I'm not in Kent though, Bedfordshire.
May be I should stop complaining(Showing off)
