Canon Ixus 700 Lens Problem

Well my first freebie received has packed in!

I got a Canon Ixus 700 from Freepay back in september and today the lens has packed in! It gets stuck and sounds very dodgy when it tries to retract into the case!

I telephoned Canon and they would be happy to repair it under warranty as long as I provide proof of purchase! There starts the problem, I can find the box, but no invoice!!

As it was ordered by Freepay Via Amazon, I doubt I can get a copy from anywhere!

However, I did post a picture of the camera and invoice on exceem when I got it, I still have a picture of the top half of the invoice on my PC, as it is a pretty good camera (7.1 mp) you can make out all the details on the invoice!

Any of you had any problems with your Canon cameras?? Do you think they will accept a printout of the picture taken of the invoice??

If you can see the invoice number then maybe you can ask amazon to send you another copy

Just had a reply from the repair shop.

I emailed them a copy of the picture and they said they would accept it as proof of purchase!

So I am getting my camera fixed!!

I also had a problem with my ixus 700 with the lens and its still being repaired. I wonder if this is a common problem?
