Building a hard drive

I may be have to say goodbye to my 2nd external hard drive... depends what they say at PC World tomorrow!

But I quite fancy the idea of "building" one!

So let's say I have the following parts:

Enclosure
Hard drive

Would I need anything else?
If so, what?!

Thanks all!

Just a few things;
Make sure it's compatible with your computer. I mean the chipset, the processor and the RAM speed so that you gain the extra speed and make the new hard drive faster.
(If the computer is too old for the hard drive, you'll gain practically nothing from the upgrade except a few more gigabytes)

Enoy it

It would be an external harddrive not an internal one!

But my laptop I'd be using it with is brand new (samsung r580 corei5)!

I'll check out the wires. I know a few enclosures come with.

Although I've just found a Toshiba StorE Art 500gb titanium external worth £99 for just £55 So may just get that as I want a portable one!
