Burning data to cdrom but want to be able to burn more on a later date.

This is probably a stupid question but in the past when I have been burning data to a CD rom it has always closed when finished and I have not been able to add more to it on a later date.. but now I have some data, around 50MB that I want to store on a disc.. but I would like to be able to add to it later on until the whole disc are full...

I am using Nero 7 Premium and tried to find an option that would stop it from closing the burning after completion.. can't find anything though and therefore I am asking you more advanced PC users if you have any suggestions for me.. or if there is another program that will do this that I can use instead..

I think the "multisession" tab in the options of Nero will help you with this! It allows you to continue previous "sessions" on a disc. Also make sure when you hit "burn" that "Finalize" is unchecked.

Hope that sorts out your problem.

there should be three radio buttons to choose from under the Multisession tab when using the Nero Burning Rom....

Start Multisession Disk
Continue Multisession Disk
No Multisession

When creating a multisession disk for the first time choose Start Multisession disk... when you come to write more data you will need to choose Continue Multisession Disk

In both cases under the Burn Tab youll need to make sure Finalize CD in unchecked

This goes a bit further and more indepth than wat amanda said

Thanks guys, found it BUT when I click on New I get a warning box "Internal Error" and then nero.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Looks like I will have to re-install it and try again!

Hmmm this is frustrating.. tried to repair the program but getting this message..

Error reading from file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\Lib\atl71dll verify that the file exist and that you can acess it.

Well, the file exist but it still wont let me repair it! If I would to uninstall the whole Nero package and then re-install it would that help?!? Or will I be given the same message?!?

you could attempt that... cant remember whether nero lets you do a repair install or not cause that would be better....

Yes it lets me start the repair install but thats when I get the message that I posted above.. which is pretty frustrating.. its just that if I do uninstall it, will a normal instal work or not?!?

you should be able to uninstall and reinstall... only one way to find out... i cant see why it wont let you access that file... you could try deleting it then repair but the uninstall and reinstall seems best way to go

Argh!! Uninstalled it and when trying to re instal Nero again I am getting the same message!!!!!!!!

Error reading from file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\Lib\atl71dll verify that the file exist and that you can acess it.

I can verify the file exist, I have tried to delete it, did not work, I downloaded a new one just in case mine was damage somehow... still getting the same darn message!!

So basically I can not install it again.. HELP!!!! please.......

check the attributes on the file... is it set to read only?

cut n paste the file to the desktop

then try to install see what happens.. the reason put it on desktop is so that if you need it you can come back to it

Tried that and still getting the same message.. also tried switching my anti virus protection off.. spyware protection off.. no change..

Getting a felling I am f***ed........

Nope no number... just whats above... its very frustrating.. argh!

I got a felling even if I would to get another disc to install it from I would still get the same problem with the atl71.dll file..

where did you get the nero from tom?
i have a feeling i know, you may need to get a different one, i had that problem when i "purchased" my first version of nero, i binned it a and "bought" a different one!!!

Nero also has compatibility problems with Windows XP - I've got a fully legit version and it doesn't work that well for me. My mother has a newer version of windows and can't get it to work at all!

uhmmm I see ~ so then maybe Nero is out of the questions then.. I finally got it re-installed again but when trying to use the Nero Burning Rom I am getting the same messages as above!!

Got a felling that Nero don't like my computer.. I am also on Windows XP.. *sigh*

Anyone that can recommend another program similar to Nero that actually works on Windows XP and which I can do everything with like with Nero.. including burning DVD's?!? Unless someone can help me out from this evil circle that I am in!!
