Photoshop Delete Key

Hello
My dad found a copy of Photoshop 7 which he got given ages ago but im trying to edit a layout on photoshop but when i select somthing then then press the delete key it does nothing. How do i make it delete which out going to the tab menu?

EDIT: also when i use CTRL + x it doesnt cut

In most cases your probably not on the correct layer when pressing ctrl x. Try using Edit>Cut, if that dont work im not sure.

Hmm...I'm not sure about PS 7, but also make sure that there is not a tick and cross. If there is, choose one and then try and delete...Can't really help, screenshot?

it works when i go to the tabs at top but its annoying because i want to delete alot of things on it and i cant screen shot my keyboard lol

Hmmm? Why not?
As for the tab, you can select all the layers by click and dragging the curser over the ones you want. Check if that'll work
