Acer Aspire 5720 Help?

Hello my mum and dad bought be a laptop for my exam results over 1 year ago now and i have installed loads of things from microsoft and i dont know what i can uninstall so i want to wipe my laptop and start again but when i got my laptop we didnt get a vista disc with it, my dad said its built in and you have to put in a password or somthing but he doesnt know how to do it. It has run out of warrenty so i dont think acer will be bothered to tell me what to do.

Has anyone else ever done this and how do i do it?

If you want to start again ..You need to install your restore disk all so know as back up disk

When you got your PC you should have made backup/resote disk

This is how you restore it back to factory setting , so you PC/laptop will be just like when you fisrt got it

Hope that helped

It won't be all of your programs that are filling your c: up though. Also with my Acer, It came with a partitioned hard drive for their acer recovery backup system, do you have a D:/ or other drive with a lot of space on it?

This is my laptop!

Although mine looks like its on its way out (only had about 18 months) it keeps overheating and then shutting off. I've tried giving it a clean out but it's still being an arse.

This is my 2nd Acer and both my old laptop, my girlfriends and my dad's have all gone breasts up just after the warranty has run out. Acer conspiracy?

Nope that's not what I'm on about.

On Acer's you don't need a recovery disk as it's built into the partition. As you turn on your laptop and your bios loads up you'll see options down the bottom for entering setup/safe mode etc and one of them (I'm sure it's either F10 or F12) will land you straight into recovery mode.
