Taking pictures with the Sony Ericsson w995.

Ive got the Sony Ericsson w995 which has an impressive 8.1 mega-pixel camera on it, but I cant seem to sort out the blurring of images.

Ive recently been using it on night out and obviously under the influence taking un-blurred photos seems to be a hard task for me. However Even when sober I would not move the camera yet it would still take a blurred photo for every 1 in 3 photos.

Does anyone know the best settings for taking pictures in the dark, so that they are not blurred and have a decent enough quality?

Why do you always just tell people to use Google? It's usually the first place people check before askign on a forum.

@ainsleee I take it the pictures are being taken in low light?

If so, is there a flash on the camera? You should make sure that's it's on. The other thing to check is the ISO. You should set it to the highest setting for images in the dark. ISO is basically how sensitive the camera sensor is to light. So the higher ISO, the more sensitive it will be, and pick light up in the dark easier.

The blurry images are probably due to the amera having to use a longer shutter speed, so people are moving around. For dark images you need a good flash and fast shutter to 'freeze' the action, but camera phones usually aren't set up for low light images. Which I never uderstand as probably 70%+ of images are taken on nights out.

It does have a flash, and it came on for every picture. Also the setting is on the highest quality setting so im not sure why.

I just suppose I shall have to try and be as steady as possible.

This will sound obvious, but is the lens clean?

Highest quality doesn't mean highest ISO - in fact higher ISO would give a lower quality image.

It only has an LED flash rather than the more powerful xenon ones. Maybe trying this would help...

I have found that the higher megapixels the camera is that the more blurry the image will *look* on a small screen, are they still blurry when you put them on the computer?
