My laptop is on it's very last legs and down to 1.6Gb free so been looking at getting a new one, had a look round and come up this this dell. Any opinions on the specs and could I get better for the same price anywhere

Intel Core i3-330M 2.13GHz
Windows 7 Home Premium
17.3" WLED High Definition + (1600 x 900) TFT
4096MB RAM
500GB Hard Drive
1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD5450 Graphics Card

Think this is okay or should I get something else

Cheers

As you all should know by now that i work in currys.digital and sell computers as my part time job. @ the age of 16 im very experienced in this area. uum i would go for the new i5 core 2 duo cpu ..currently toshiba is stocking these. Actually it depends on what your going to use it for.

Did you know that some people have core2duo cpu and they dont even use it too half its potential. if its for basic use go for something with a pentium dual core. You can get a T - 000 series with 2mb cache

Anyways thats just my opinion

didnt understand a word of that, haha

i have (and am on) a laptop similar to what you said, not sure if its the exact same model but.............it seems to work pretty well, never had any trouble with the actual laptop, just the charger, sometimes it cuts out and i have to turn it on and of again. but other than that its great!

Basically what im saying is that be sure to select the right laptop so you have no regrets.

I sell computers for the bigest computer company in the UK so know what im talking about lol

Dont select a computer with the i3 core2duo cpu if your not going to use it to its full potential.

AVOID CELERON - JUST NOT WORTH HAVING ANYMORE

If your going to be using it for school /college work and basic everyday to everyday computing then select a machine with a PENTIUM dual-core processor, you can can a T3*** 64 -bit version of this with 2mb of cache

NOW..IS THAT BETTER LOL

Errm the i3 chip and the core 2 duo are separate and different chips. You can't get an 'i3 core2duo'. The i3 has 4 cores and the core 2 duo has 2 cores.

I think you're a bit confused.

The i3 has 2 cores, mate. So does the core 2 duo.

The 'i3' chips have the same number of cores, but have so much more than core 2 duo, for eg. 32nm (less power hungry and less heat), integrated graphics, hyper threading, integrated memory controller - all of which the core 2 duo doesn't have.

Yeah lol, the i3 series have 2 cores, some i5 have 2 cores, some 4, i7 has 4 cores and Intel should be releasing the new i9 with 6 cores this year.
