Transferring contacts from my Viewty to my G2

Hey all

Got my new phone today, was wondering if there's a way of transferring the contacts across? Changing network, so saving to the sim isn't an option

Thanks!

can't you store it on the memory card? then use a card reader to put the contacts on your comp and put it on another memory card if the G2 uses a different type?

insert new sim in old phone, and transfer numbers to sim.

or transfer numbers to old sim, put into old phone, and transfer numbers from old sim to new phone.

I was under the impression that due to the fact that they are changing networks this wasn't an option.

Re: Transferring contacts from my Viewty to my G2

You can put your new sim in your old phone. I was able to do that going from o2 to Orange. The only problem I had was that the names got truncated, and I lost email addresses and additional numbers if they were stored in the phone.

If you can back up to your memory card, then it'll save a vcf contact card. You can then open this using Outlook, edit it, and put it on the memory card of your g2 then import your contacts. It's a bit fiddly though.

Depends if the handset is networked locked. You'll have major issues if it is.

Apparently my O2 phone was network locked, but it still accepted the orange sim card when I put it in.

Haha I always end up leaving out contacts, usually from old acquaintances and end up having about half the number of contacts I started with.
