Youtube Video Size?

Hi,

Does anyone know why my youtube videos appear smaller than the screen size

Here is an example

YouTube - Modern Warfare 2 - Domination - Afghan - Danger Close Setup (Dealing with Lag)

It is recorded in 720p and converted to that all the way along the process. Its edited in windows movie maker if that makes a difference.

Windows movie maker won't render a 720p (16:9) video.

You should get something like Camtasia studio. It's a 30 day free trial but it will do the job. Camtasia Studio, TechSmith's Screen Recording Software

Might have something to do with your WMM settings, I would need to know more to tell you though.

Oh, and also, you're getting quite a bit of mic feedback on that video, you might wat to fix that.

What settings did you use?

Let me show you how to get best settings for youtube..

Import your video and drag it on the timeline. A box should appear with the dimensions, which you should change to the size of the video - 1280x720 in this case...

next click File>Produce Video As....

And then choose 'Custom Production Settings'...

Click Next and then choose the top option 'MP4/FLV/SWF....'

Click Next and under Appearance>Template choose 'No Controls'

Then Click 'Flash Options'. Choose Format as 'MP4' and then set your own framerate and bitrate..

After that, just click OK, next and then render the video and upload to youtube

i have uploaded a quick video of my screen recording which i have just rendered with the settings above and it looks good quality

(better if you watch it on youtube in HD - YouTube - Something Something Something)

thanks, ill try doing that, i set the quality up to 100%, probably gonna end up in a massive file size, but we'll see

tried to rep but need to spread

edit: even when i view it in the previewer on the side the quality is awful aswell

even at 100% quality, a high bitrate and a file size of 2.4GB !! the quality is still bad, very jumpy, cannot go smooth for 5 seconds

it looks like you may have annotations switched on within the movie, when you do this they reduce the size of the movie in order to add the annotations even if you dont end up using them, try uploading the video just as a video without adding any annotations or changing anything and see if it still the smaller size than it should be
