Making a new PC - where to shop?

Hey im making a new PC, want it to be fairly high spec, so quad core processors, cant really afford i7 socket intel ones so intel 775 sockets will have to do.

good motherboard so 7.1 audio or better. With capacity for at least 8gb ram ddr2 (ddr3 would be great but cant afford it)

anyway i digress, basically i would like to know where the best shops are to buy computer hardware such as ram, processors and motherboards. I've been recommended cclonline and ebuyer. Does anyone else know where is well priced? Also seeing as i'll be ordering around £500 do you guys reckon i could haggle a discount?

Overclockers UK <-- The best there is for me.

Best is to shop around and see what they offer.. some shop might give you some discount but don't count on it.. just remember that you have shipping cost to add on to the prices..

Cheers
Tom

Thats a nice spec PC your after, but £500 won't get you too much even if you do buy it yourself. Correct me if I'm wrong of course, but whenever I shop around I cant bring it under £600ish

yea some of the stuff is gonna be longer term, like i might start off with small ram, and a crappy gfx card, then upgrade them when prices drop or a good deal comes about. That said knowing me i'd stretch to £600 lol

Like Jon said Overclockers is great. They ususally have good deals and sometimes their pre-built PCs are hard to beat for price espeically if they've been overclocked. Make a post on the Overclockers forum and ask someone to build you one for that price range!!!
