viewing programmes from computer on TV?

what's the best, easiest, any way of connecting a pc/laptop up to my tv to view stuff from the computer on the tv, I want to watch tv programmes downloaded onto my pc, and we find it a bit restrictive watching on the laptop, anyone good at this?

Has your PC's graphics card got DVI? Is your TV an HDTV or a normal TV?

HDMI? Most of Dell's new laptops have HDMI and most HDTV's also have it. Very cheap cables to.

VGA's best in my opinion; I've never come across a laptop (apart from some MacBooks) that doesn't have a VGA slot....

if your laptop doesn't have a HDMI socket, you could use a DVI to HDMI cable, thats what i use anyway
