Dual Booting OS

Right I have two hard drives in my PC, I would like to install separate OS' on them.
How would I go about doing this, would I just install them as normal just change the directory to the relevant hard drive on the install?
Would this enable me to choose which OS to use when the PC boots up?

You just install it as usual and choose the hard drive.

Yes, if you dualboot xp and vista, it says

Earlier version of Windows
Windows Vista

and you just chose your OS.

Ooo, Windows 7. Is that the Beta or RC1? How do you get a hold of that? Wouldn't mind wrapping my System Tester chops round it.

What are the benefits of dual booting? All I see is a waste of potential spac you would be using with one OS

1 tip, make sure you install the oldest O/S first.

When you install the new one it updates some boot files and if you do it the other way round, it kills the newer installation.

Beta Build 7000, I would tell you where I got it from but that would be breaking the rules if you get my drift...

I had a spare HDD, so I thought I'd give Windows 7 a try. The HDD wasn't being used anyway so I effectively didn't waste any space!

That's a pity. Does that mean it's not legit, or are you registered for the beta? PM me if you want.

Have you thought about using Virtual Box to run a virtual desktop instead? I've got that running on Vista with Win Xp so I can use IE6 for checking websites.

Using Virtual Box gives you no aero! Jamie loves aero!

I think it is legit, seeing as the beta only lasts for 30 days. But there is a way of getting it to last forever which obviously isn't legit.
Yeah I thought about running it virtually but I decide to use my unused Hard drive.

Think I've just found what you're on about as well. Might try and get it downloaded tonight and try it on Virtual Box.

It's not exactly legit, it's the beta meant to be for selected testers.

Yep, for the first 2.5 million people from around the world. It goes live at 00:00 PST on the 9th, so 8am our time... might get my dad to start the download for me

They're giving it away for free to the first 2.5m, or a release candidate/beta?
