Windows 7: Windows 7 Beta Available Pulled ; "No ETA" on Product Keys

You can download Windows 7 from these links, but it'll only work for 30 days.
These are the links from Microsoft so nothing dodgy.

64-bit: http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...FRE_EN_DVD.ISO

Had it for a few days now, no problems after install. Everything works great on my rig:
MB: Gigabyte P35C-DS3R
CPU: q6600 @ 4x2.4ghz
RAM: 2x2gb OCZ DDR3
VGA: Nvidia 8600GT with 1GB DDR2 on card ram.
Sound: Sound Blaster Audigy Value 7.1 (24bit)
Windows 7 beta 1 (7000) Genuine.

The only problem I have is that the creative drivers for windows 7 dont support feeding 2.1 channel sound into 5.1 speakers(2.1 digital >> 5.1 digital surround upmix, what it really does is copies Right front into right rear and vice verse.) and I can't live without it. I need all of them to work So if you are rocking a 2.1 sound system, have at least 2 gb of ram, and have at least a dual core pc, you will love it and probably not feel any problems, the system has yet to crash or even slow down on me (and I'm running everything, photoshop cs4, flash, team fortress 2 under steam, etc).

Warning: the system eats up on average 0.7 gb of ram, so allow 1 gig just for the system at all times (at the moment I have 4 tabs in firefox, steam open, a few folders, my ipod connected and music playing and it is using 1.8 gb of ram).

P.S. In case I did not make it clear enough 2 front speakers and the bass still work fine, no problems there, it's just I'm a bit too geeky, I want all the 5+bass to work

Why don't you use torrents? It is the same distribution? pirate bay has the actual build downloaded from the microsoft web site, so it should be legal...

There is a torrent with 6.5k seeders, I downloaded it at my maximum download speed(1.2MBps) and everything is fine...

I don't want to get on to Jon's bad side so I'm not gonna post a link to it, so pm me for it if you're interested.

I just managed to get the key after been trying to get one since 6PM yesterday! If you not already doing it, use FireFox, add the addon Check4Change, make sure you are logged into Microsoft TechNet http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/default.aspx through your Windows Live ID, then use this link

https://www.microsoft.com/betaexperi...s/default.aspx

You might have to be refreshing the page a couple of hundreds times before getting the key though!

Cheers
Tom

What happens when you click on it?

I got it in the massive thread about Windows 7 on OcUK, where most of the users is trying to get the key for the OS, now everyone seems to get it though, unfortunately it seems like Microsoft has 5 different keys that is rotating around for everyone since quite a few users have got the same key by the looks of things!

Cheers
Tom

i follow your instructions and when i click that link it just re-directs me to this page: Welcome to Windows 7 or that msn page where you type in an invalid link and it takes you to their search engine with a few alternative suggestions to search from

is it possible that the same key will work on more than 1 computer?

The way I understand is that if you are not logged into your Windows Live ID, and TechNet then you will be directed to the Welcome to Windows 7 page. If you are logged into them then I don#t know whats going on for you?!?

If you want to try another way go to this link and follow the instructions..

I think I know where I went wrong, I clicked on the link instead of copy and pasting it. I'll follow those instructions now, thanks dude. Have some rep.

(I really don't know why I'm going through all this hassle I still don't know if I want 7 or not!!) Can I install it on an external hard drive and use it off that somehow? Or install it on my D drive and keep vista on my C drive and use it like that until I decide which one I wanna get rid of?)

EDIT: What if I want the 32 bit version, do I have to alter that link to 7-32 or leave it at 64?
