| iPod 20gb | 1080p CamcorderHey Guys, Just bought a camcorder that films 1080p, anyway i filmed a random 24 second vid put it on the pc and its in .mov format. Anyway when it opens in quicktime its massive, i put it down to fit screen then it plays nice. But i wanna convert it to Avi format but if i do that will it lose the 1080p ratio? If you get what i mean Thanks |

![]() | I'd go with avi as it's more common, but it's up to you. On Super, select either DivX or Xvid as the output video codec and mp3 as the audio codec. Choose the 'No change' option for the video size, 16:9 as the aspect ratio and 25 for frame/sec. You need a high bitrate for HD video, if you double click on the file you want to convert in the file list, you'll be shown an analysis of it. Choose similar video/audio bitrates to the ones in the original file to retain detail. Once you're happy choose the output destination (Ctrl+T) and then click Encode. Hope that helps. |

![]() | Just to point out that in order for it to be 1080i/p it must be in the resolution of 1929 × 1080 and for hd ready it would be 1280×720. simply put it is a movie that has been recorded in these resolutions in the highest possible bitrate that you can fit within the bandwidth you have available. However if you are doing this for your tv then you are better off looking at the formats acceptable by your tv as they may actually use a resolution of something like 1366 x 768 and then overscan the picture. the most common format would be mpeg-2. So check it out as sometimes converting it into what you think is a good resolution and then playing it on your tv dont always work out for the best, you are better off looking at the highest resolution your tv accepts and then convert your movies to this size. |
