How do I get my PS3 online!??!?!?!

I can't get it online. I have a livebox, I have remembered to put it in settings mode. I enter all the details into the PS3 network bit, then test the connection which times out without obtaining an IP address.

Searching google all I can find is "did you you remember to put it in pairing mode" etc. which I did.

Any ideas?

If not then is does anyone know if there the possibility to connect an ethernet cable to my laptop (which is connected to the livebox fine) and then access the internet that way some how? If so please explain and point me in the direction of what I need.

Cheers!

What security are you using? For some reason my ps3 will on work with WEP. Anything stronger such as WPA and it times out finding the IP.

I have a livebox too, is it with Orange broadband? If so type in your address bar 192.168.1.1 and press enter, then login to the control panel the username is admin and the password is admin then search around in the CP and you should find some more info on your livebox. Use the info you find to help the PS3 better connect with the livebox.

Hope this helps

Yup tried that, added the PS3 and the PORTS jobby in that thing. No effect.

I tried to do the ISP manually but I couldn't move things forward or save it for some reason if that helps.

hmm...not really sure whats wrong then

When i had the same problem with my PS3 i was sat trying to connect it for like two hours straight. Then my older brother came in and said you're spose to put it in pairing mode and he pressed 2 and it worked! A whole 2hours down the drain just because i didn't press one button!!

Re: How do I get my PS3 online!??!?!?!

Go to network options on the ps3 to find the mac address. Should be like this: F1:BD:C8:C8: etc.

Well, are you using any kind of router? If you are, type in your ip address (probably 192.168.11.1) on the comp/ laptop that uses it. Should taken you onto router control panel.
