What's so good about Firefox?

Tell me.

I have it, but I couldn't see why it was so damn amazing.

What makes everyone rave about it?

I happily use IE and don't suffer any major problems, so why change?

(and SwedishTom, don't behead me )

Re: What's so good about Firefox?

To be honest, I used IE at work and had no problems with it, ironically when I installed firefox on my work computer, the whole system would crash all the time.
At home though I use firefox as IE would crash! Plus I suppose I'm used to it now.

Do you use IE6 or IE7? If you use IE6 you don't deserve to be browsing the Web to be honest...

Not going to behead you.. just ban you for a month!

Joking aside, for me personally FF loads faster, you have more add ons [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/], themes, and so on.. basically you can turn FF into your own preferred version.. (maybe you can do the same with IE but I have not looked to see if you can or not).. and if memory serves me right, FF started with Tab browsing then IE followed.. (might be wrong though!)

But yeah, as most of you know I am a FireFox fanboy so I am probably a bit biased in this situation!

Cheers
Tom

PS If you never have checked out FF's add-ons section, click the link above and have a browse through!

Re: What's so good about Firefox?

It's the addons... loads pages quicker, doesn't crash as much as IE (and even when it does, it'll load the pages you were on before in the right tabs).

I just prefer it a lot more

Re: What's so good about Firefox?

Its just much better because of little things, i originally switched to it because it had tabbed browsing as default without the need for any addons. Also like the bookmark toolbar and all the addons which are really useful and easy to install. Also i like that if and when your pc crashes and firefox has to close it always gives you the option to reopen all the tabs you had open (with any forms data still intact i only recently found out!). Also agree about faster loading...

Re: What's so good about Firefox?

page load speed is much better, specially with something like fasterfox installed which just turbos it up

plus it caches the pages much better than IE, and i like the fact it displays what its loaded so far rather than ie waiting for most of the page to have loaded before it does it
