![]() | Re: Wireless network helpHEHEHE the simple things always seem to be the trouble Vista in my opinion of it, in networking terms is a pain in the ass! I have had problems with networking sharing between 2 PC's one with XP pro the other with Vista Ultimate. Its always worth going to the following : Internet Explorer>Internet Option> LAN Settings>and then clearing all the ticks out. Then from your taskbar (by the windows clock) right click the windows Wireless connection and choose repair, I have found this to cause issues too. can you open a command prompt from your laptop and do me a IPCONFIG /all and then post a screenshot of the results? Ta

![]() | Re: Wireless network helpok lets clarify the IP address's first your IP address on the private side of your LAN is 192.168.0.92 & your Default Gateway is 192.168.0.1 The default gateway is where you want your laptop to point to ( you want it to point towards your Internet connection, now if that was a router the routers are normally set to 192.168.0.1, if its a case of you sharing internet and using someone elses PC/Laptop as the gateway you should change the default gateway on your laptop to match the IP address of the laptop/PC that is the main Internet user, if that makes sense :P ) To clarify, check both your laptop and the other laptop are both on the same IP address Range. Can you post the IP address & Subnet mask & the Default gateway of the other machine too

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Wireless network helpUm, not sure where the other laptop got it's ip address from? Where does the ip address usually come from? On my laptop (one connected to the net), in the wireless properties, the internet protocol version 4 properties say to obtain the ip address etc automatically.. it's the same with the other laptop too.. does that have anything to do with it? What can I do now to fix the problem?
