Can anyone recommend a decent ipod dock?

As per the title, I'm looking for a dock for my ipod touch.....

I'm not bothered about it having speakers as I want to use the dock to connect my ipod to my stereo (via 2-phono) and to charge it up.

Can anyone help? - Ideally it will be available on Amazon as I've got some vouchers to use up lol

i got a really good and fairly cheap ipodock from Argos.
It is a logic3 one and is very small, compatible with all ipods, and folds up as well to be compact. Although it is small, the sound is brilliant (and very loud! lol).
i thought it was a great buy for £30 but the price maybe less now.

I can't find them on their website (i tried to get the link for you).

but i really do recommend a logic3 set, they are not recognised as a top brand but they are cheap and of very good quality.

oh, and it comes with main adapter and that so you can charge you ipod throught it.

Got the official universal ipod dock and remote myself and it works pretty well too, but the option above will probably match the touch better and work out cheaper.

I use a random standalone one that has its own speakers.

However for £15 my Dad and my cousin bought ones that plug into their bose from currys or somewhere random like that!

If you're interested i'll go look into the garage for the box to find out what kind it is what i kinda suspect this is what you mean!

Yeah that's the kind of thing I'm looking for. I'll probably go for the one that h2w linked to earlier though so don't worry too much about looking for a box.

Mine is the same but doesn't have the remote. I'd reccomend it highly Its perfect for that price, the music gets loud, it can run off batteries as well as being plugged in, can be connected via firewire to the pc for the older ipods and usb for the new ones, comes with a little cable to connect any other mp3s to it via the headphone jack, has some funky blue lights, folds up and will fit any iPod. (My touch has a case on, so all I do is take out the little plastic dock connector and it fits perfectly, although it comes with various sized ones for the different ipods.

Thought I'd resurrect this old thread rather than start a new one.

I am looking at an iPod dock that will support and original (non 3g) iPhone.

Have just tried the iPhone with a Klipsh iGroove and although it said "not compatible", everything worked fine.

I've also heard that the Bose sound docks are pretty good.

Question is, does the extra cost for the Bose justify the better quality, or is the Klipsch good enough?

Furbs, i had this dilemma a while ago.

A friend of mine had the bose sound dock and insisted it was the mutts nutts, i pondered both, and ended up getting the klipsch igroove (i got the SXT model though). Cant fault it at all to be honest, they give you a few ipod adapters, but not one for the nano 3g, you just have to use the white one apple gave you with it. Sound is very crisp and clear, i was surprised how good it was from such a small unit.

The only disappointment i had was the lack of "ipod control" from the remote, ie, you cant issue menu commands, but i found out that if you use coverflow, it returns to the coverflow menu after playing the album, and you can skip through them with the remote from there.

But, the bose has the same problem, which was my friends only complaint with his.

Overall i'd recommend the klipsch. I'd say order the klipsch from amazon, if your happy then alls well, if you dont like it for any reason, return it !
