Nintendo Wii doesn't like my WiFi :(

Argh, this is really bugging me! Since I got my Wii on Thursday I've still not got it connected to the internet! I keep getting error "51130". After 2 nights of Googling I've found the following suggestions:
  • Change the WiFi channel to 11
  • Remove the WEP key and see if it works
  • Change the WiFi settings to 802.11b instead of 802.11g

None of those have worked I've made a rubbishy diagram of my setup below!

If anyone knows the solution I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks

Nice diagram lol

Do you need to activate some sort of pairing mode or something like that? That seemed to sort out the problem I had with my Orange Livebox.

Do either your modem our router have firewalls?

Do you just use WEP or do you have some other protection (WMA or something)?

Never had to do that before with any of my other WiFi stuff. Don't see why this would be any different?

I've disabled all the stuff like this. MAC filtering etc. are all disabled

Just WEP, and I've tried it with no encryption at all.

Thanks

Re: Nintendo Wii doesn't like my WiFi :(

From what I have heard, the WiFi channel has to be 1 not 11. Also, the wifi settings has to be auto, as the Wii uses 802.11g, whereas most other things use 802.11b.

I've just tried with channel 1, still doesn't work. The WiFi setting is on "mixed" (b or g)

I know you're asking Chigley, but I can resist!

Its so much fun! I personally didn't think it was going to be that good but its great. Some bits are a tad annoying like on the advert where the floor is moving and there are holes in different shapes etc. I kept falling through the big circle

You should! its meant to have the best graphics on the wii so far, and is great to play around with. I like it because every level is different, you know, its not like 'kill the terrorist' every single stage.
