360 - 3 red lights flashing

Well guys :O when I turn my Xbox 360 off, nothing comes up on my TV just the blue screen.. after maybe 10-20 seconds three of the 4 ring lights start to flash..

any help. please ?

means your xbox is broke... contact whoever you got the xbox from/microsoft direct

Or if youve been playing it a lot prior to turning it on again...it may of just overheated??

well last time I played it I was playing biker14 on FIFA 07, and it froze. So i turned it off and didn't bother turning it back on. When I tried to play it today the 3 stupid, red lights came on.

Thing is, It happened before so I just restarted the console and all was fine

OK, I've done the Code Check thing.. and the code I'm getting is 0022 which means GPU Overheating... any idea how it can be solved ?

You can buy £20 cooler thingys in HMV, I saw them today.

I'd leave the 360 off for a day, then get this clip-on fan cooler thingy and see if you still get the lights. Not sure if it's physically damaged or just too hot when you last tried it.

and it's no shame losing to a chmapionship team, at their ground, because of a penalty which shouldn't have been given

Yay i diagnosed the problem and i dont even have a xbox 360!! In regards to the external fan suggestion i really cant see that helping now, it would stop overheating but will not help now. Also i doudt it would be that effective and it would make the fan noise even worse...and your be £20 down.

My advice would be to unplug it, put it in a place with a good air flow and then try it again in 24 hours. Then contact microsoft, ive heard their replacement/repair service is as good as apples. They collect it from you, try and fix it - if they cant you get a new one sent to you. Good luck!

Good to see people using the reputation feature again.

I would do as H2W said. I've heard people saying Microsoft will replace it if need be if it's still under the one year warranty.

well Jon told me to contact the 360giveaway and ask them for advice, they might be able to send me some sort of a reciept or proof of purchase or someting like that.

wonder if that has ever happened before ?

DariusTim, if you're going to send it back: take out your HDD and send it off - in all the cases I've heard of they send it back with a brand new one in it worth £70-80!

I've heard Tab saying before that you don't need a receipt. He says just phone them up and they should handle it over the phone.
