Connection Problems - Please Help

Ok there guys, I require your help, pretty badly

Well I've got a 4 port router, had it for a while. And every 5 or 10 minutes I get disconected from the internet. It wasn't really a problem till lately because I just kept on refreshing the website or signing back in onto MSN.

But since I got Xbox Live it's been a pain in the ass. Tried playing FIFA with a couple of people, got disconected every time. 2 of the people have sent me a message "quitter" etc.

Now technical stuff, which might help solve the problem, if anyone would be so kind to help me.:

Router - 4 Port Wired Belkin Router - Model # F5D5231 - 4
Internet Connection - 10 MB NTL Cable

Also when I connect my PC directly to the NTL modem there are no problems whatsoever. But today I couldnt get my Xbox 360 connected directly to it.
+ I normally have 2 PC's connected+Laptop+xbox 360 - could this be the problem, although it was the same with just 2 PC's connected.

Maybe you know good sites to solve this problem, I have looked all over google and couldn't find anything.

I know there are some "technical" people here on eXceem, e.g. Jon, who maybe could give me some advice.

Thanks in advance

Any more questions, I will be happy to answer

You could maybe try avforums.com

There not really specific to pc connection problems but someone on there might be able to help. It might even fit into the xbox 360 section.

I had a similar problem with my router (linksys wrt54gs) my connection would disconnect after a couple of hours and after messing around to get it back my IP would change.

All my problem was I set my router to use a static IP instead of using DHCP to automatimaticly assign my IP. Once I did this I have had no problems with my connection.

Hope this helps
