Canon Ixus 700 - Anyone got one?

So my canon ixus 700 has decided to stop working - problem is I don't have a receipt! *Mod Edit* Do not offer to "buy" someone elses invoice for a green. That is ever so slightly fraudulent.

I had the same camera from Freepay, I had a problem with the lense retraction. Got it September 05 so well out of 12 months now.

Got it fixed under warranty because I take photos of invoices with my camera and store them on my computer

I have edited your post as you can not offer to buy someone else's invoice for a green.

Why not just throw it away, and get a free replacement (canon ixus 800 for freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee).

My Canon Ixus 800 is broken too! Just happened this week. I was wondering if anyone knew whether Canon would be able to fix it for me (maybe they can tell how old it is from the serial number or something). I don't recall getting an invoice for it from freepay.

Anyone done this?

Got mine from freepay as well - the people that fix the cameras for canon say a receipt or invoice is neccessary or they can't fix it

Amanda, i believe you got your free camera the same time as me. Mine came from amazon with a invoice, they paid in euros for some reason but shouldnt be a problem. Anyway you should have one too. Mines still going strong *touch wood*, however i'll be very lucky if it remains that way for long...what with the clever lens retraction and auto picture rotate sensor and all...

They should be happy with a scanned copy of the invoice showing the purchase date, and i think (without going to find my camera) there is a strip on the bottom of the camera with the serial number on.

I didn't think I had the receipt but I found it, thank goodness! There's a list of places to get them fixed here:

(click "repair and service" then choose your country)

If they won't do it without a receipt then I would try calling Canon themselves to see if they can provide one if you give them the serial number. Freepay may also be able to provide one (you will at least have an email saying it had been shipped).
