I am a bit of a novice on this subject,

How do I get the best picture. Will a normal old scart lead do it or do I need a different cable or something, from my digibox?

Also, I have a 360 I wanna hook up to get hdtv gaming going, does this need a diff cable?

Look who is a nooooooob now

Re: HDTVs

I use a normal scart lead for my digibox. That's probably the way to get the best picture.

Xbox 360 you'll need an HDMI cable.. though if the tv doesn't have that input you'll need to convert it from hdmi to DVI.

Re: HDTVs

With the 360, the best way to connect is either by component (cable comes included with 360 Premium) or by VGA (which requires a 360 VGA cable).

Digibox is best connected by Scart - unless you have Sky HD which connects via HDMI

Re: HDTVs

My TV I ordered has this:

1x HDMI input
1x Component input
2x Scart input
1x PC D-Sub input
1x Headphone socket
1x S-Video input
1x Composite input

SO thats ok for HD'ing right?

Re: HDTVs

yep, so you can plug your xbox's component cable (if you got the premium version then you will have this) into the compnent port of your tv (the one that has 5 ports). Also for your digital box, it depends on what digibox you have. Typically it will be scart although if you have sky hd then you could plug it into the hdmi port on your tv.

EDIT: Also Dunstan, I don't think Microsoft have released an hdmi cable for the 360 yet have they?

Re: HDTVs

Apparently HDMI is supposed to produce inferior picture quality anyway.
