Fort anyone trading with him, he's been banned permanently, and may find some of his accounts are put on hold, as we've just found out he's done the lovefilm offer more than once!

Re: Ben Hampson

Probably because he completed it twice in two different trades on eXceem. Thus one of the people he's trading with will lose out when LoveFiLM do their reversals and find him to be breaking their T&C's.

They may even reject both of his sign-ups.

OK... well sorry Emma, I think I PM'ed you before I read this topic! Apologies!

Though I had been trading with him, and he told me in the trade he had done it twice, which Emma had originally spotted

It was apple freejeebies. Would I be allowed to mail them to get my yellow off his account? Any of the apple freebiejeebie reps registered on this site?

Apologies for noobness

I have only done one trade on exceem and that was about a year ago but this kinda thing puts me off doing so. Its not really fair that people who follow the rules correctly and spend money on a trade with a scammer are punnished as they have done nothing wrong. However, the network wont get paid for the "trade" and cant be expected to show a little "goodwill" sadly.

The only good thing is that hopefully the scammer will be put on hold on the sites that he's doing/done and he wont get a "freebie". Thats the only possible consolation here.

Yes, to both of these questions. You can request your details are removed from his account, even if its just a yellow and Moviedrome and monkeyegg are freebiejeebies reps are regulars on here.

Re: Ben Hampson

some network owners do show good will when there have been trade scamming issues etc but for obvious reasons its kept a secret as otherwise it would open the floodgates of "fake trade scammings". all cases of trade scamming are passed on to the network owners, what they do with it is up to them, but most do take action.

and yes he was banned for doing the offer twice, both on trades, doing a offer twice is one of the big no no's, and since he did it whilst trading...

As arctic says plus i think FreebieJeebies are quite a good/sympathetic network so i am hopeful for you.

Hope you don't suffer as that would be terrible and really unfair. Good luck!!

Jon- If the offence was not done in public (e.g. Found out by intercepting a PM) i am pretty sure telling the network owners would be in breach of the online data protection act, which states that if you want to pass out personal information to third parties you must either get permission from the people concerned or outline to them before hand that you may use their information for whatever purpose.

I agree that passing on infractions to network owners is a good idea, but i think the legal side of it should be looked into so eXceem don't end up in trouble!

The act can be found here;
Data Protection Act 1998

Not sure what i have said is 100% correct, but its what i can remember from reading the document a few years ago.

Re: Ben Hampson

this applies to emails as a network manager i cannot by law open or look at any other persons emails without permission.
only found this out after an incident where i had to remove anemail from everyones account, lucky for me nobody cared.
when you sign up to any forum there should be a part of the rules reg's which state that by signing up you also allow mods admin to read your PM's.
if there isnt such statement then there could be trouble.

First, I can not access that part of the CP where you can see who is sending what to whom, but I am pretty sure that any PM's that are intercepted in regards to trades only results in the offender being banned and nothing passed on.

That is why we insists that all trade is being done in the trading section, so that if something is fishy we can point that out for the Networks Owners and they can read it for themselfs since it is all done in the open. That includes the swapping of referral links, so basically if you are in a trade and the other party PM's you in regards to this trade, just refer them to your trade thread.

We had much trouble with this before the Trade Section was made since once a trade was agreed upon in the past it continued in PM's, where there was no chance to controlling it, now as mentioned, with verything being in the open.. well, thats how Mr hampson Jr. was caught.. two different trading threads where he said he signed up to the same offer!

Hope that clears it a bit!

Cheers
Tom
