just use a debit card
if a dvd is lost in the post they send you a form(royal mail do) you fill it in send it back they re-pay lovefilm for it

simple

But they are contractually obliged not to UNLESS you continue after the trial or you loose / damage the DVD.

It's like doing anything where you need your card. Infact, online useage (as long as you use it on properly-secured sites, with the padlock in your browser) is safer than using it in a petrol station or at a cash point.

you can use a preapaid CC for lovefilm. You cant use it for the betting offers (for obvious reasons)

o my days i have wanted to post on this thred for the last 5 years but it has taken me so long to read all the posts lol ( little exaggeration involved )

why hasnt this been solved...

right your dads worried and the only way he ll see sense is if he knows that it is safe. now to most people who are new to the internet (with money involved) dont understand the amount of security involved that these websites use.

so what i said to my dad was i will make up a new account purly for online use and if it needs money which for love film it doesnt, then you just put what you need in it and they cant get anymore than that.

this gives you the peace of mind for security and acts as a fail safe on all the security for online.

If you dont want to do a offer just get the extra refs, not exactly hard. All my gifts from FJ have only cost me a fiver (Free credit on apple, £5 on consoles)...so no not 100% free but if it doesnt sound like a saving then you best hit the high street and see what stuff really costs!
