oh and i think chiggy mis understood me, i meant the other guy was saying it's not free stuff because we're using our time which costs etc, and i was saying, being 14 my time is worth nothing

I understood you. I got my first job at 14, have continued to grow, and my time is now worth a considerable amount. All I was saying is that you shouldn't write-off opportunities due to your age - your time is precious.

That's a good point, don't let your age stop you using your time constructively.

thats why i'm such a big fan of the internet it gives money making opportunities to people my age(such as real incentives, which keep me in my extravagant way of life)
so how did you get your job? i assume it's the one you have with FJ?

Yeah freelance coding/development. It started with FJ, but over time I've now built up quite a client base

Don't let your age get in the way of anything.

how'd you learn coding en??
I'm trying to get through one of those"xhtml/making a website with dreamweaver for dummies ebooks" see if i can make my own website
already found a company who want a really simple one one page, some contact details

The best way to get into coding etc is just to get on a do it.

Open Notepad and start learning HTML, that is a simple base to start with, gets you understanding basic programming (eventually you can use dreamweaver for most of it) But i would not be at the level i am at without first getting to grips with HTML and learning little bits of random programming language like BASIC.

One thing important to decide about web development is to you want to be front end or back end.

Front end - designing the look and graphics

Back - Making the site work properly and creating apps etc.


I i wish i had the net when i was 14, would have been great.

yeh but one can't just open notepad and know coding, you have too read something
and so far, it's quite confizing

i knew nothing when i started but after looking at chigleys code and looking things up in there i'm not bad now. Not that i would claim to be an expert but it works (no more nails as chigley calls my coding!)

I meant, look up sites with HTML on etc like you have been doing, but start simple with Notepad, dont jump right into dreamweaver etc. Start basic and it helps you understand limitations....
