80gb PS3?

Hey guys, i'm wanting to go for another ps3. Preferrably the 80gb like before with the card reader and extra USB ports *before they scrapped it*

Are they bringing the 80gb version back? On the R-I site they're offering the 80gb version. I'm wanting to know if it's been officially announced or not. Usually freebie sites don't put non-existing items on their site. So would it be worth it going for the 80gb. Because I don't want to getting 14+ referrals and then end up having to go for the 40gb version wasting over 2 refs...

If any of the above makes sense, please feel free to respond

We are currently offering alternatives, so you wouldn't be conned out of referrals and offered the 40gb version dont worry.

It doesn't look like the 80gb is coming, so we're currently considering an alternative to offer. It's likely to be the 40gb ps3 and 1 / 2 games or the cash equiv of the bundle,

Ash

Re: 80gb PS3?

As jaysta said its not looking good for the UK, i don't think they we bring the 80Gb out here,

I emailed sony about the 60Gb and the 80Gb a month or so ago and the relpy said that the 60gb wasn't selling and there wasn't any plans to bring the 80Gb one out in the UK which i thought was a bit crap, but its always the same in the UK.

Re: 80gb PS3?

i know what your sayin m8, we always seem to get done over when it comes to stuff like this.i think we can be pretty sure that the 80gb ps3 ain't comin to the uk. trawled the net for ages and ages and tbh doesnt look like sony has any plans of releasing an 80gb anytime soon. The alternative offers seems more than reasonable though. Just for curiousity, how long would we have to wait for you to offer an alternative ash? Cos i've got 13 greens and 2 pendings and was going for the 80gb ps3. i wud probs go for the cash alternative and would maybe try and get a us 80gb from ebay or something. just wanna have a console sorted out for when GTA 4 comes out. thanks in advance

Wayner is an unknown quantity at this point

Re: 80gb PS3?

I am always surprised sony never picked up on the relatively high demand for the backwards compatible consoles from ebay and similar and featured it in their new consoles.

Personally this is the feature I would like most on a PS3, as far as I am concerned 40gig is more than ample for my gaming needs.
