RI Stages - Screen Shots

Hi all,

Does anyone have any decent screen shots of the various stages from begining to end on RI ??

Ie....A shot of "you have not completed you offer", a shot of "offer completed", a shot of "how many referrals away are you from getting your gift"
................

and then once you have all the referrals and completed your offer, screen shots of the stages where you submitt you account for approval, enter you address in etc.......

any other shots i've forgotten about would be great.

Im assuming your writing a guide to signing up, im pretty sure your not allowed to guide users through the process. You risk your account being put on hold

Do you reckon this is against the rules for just sites? How about ebooks like Furb's?

I doubt it's against the rules showing the process of how it works which I'm pretty sure is all that's happening.

Re: RI Stages - Screen Shots

I have to admit that I've never been totally sure about the rules on "walking" someone through the process.

Where do you draw the line? Most of us have information on our websites explaining the system to varying degrees of detail. An eBook maybe takes that one stage further. Does either or both constitue a "walkthrough" ?

I imagine the rule stems from the fact that advertisers want people to properly try their products, which is maybe not the same as telling someone the bare minimum to get a free gift.

Some clarification might be useful though.

I have to say I too have been wondering the same about where the line is drawn.

My understanding of a "walkthrough" has been you sitting over someone's shoulder and telling them what to type where etc ... as if you were doing it yourself, but they were physically clicking the buttons.

With RI, i classify a walk-through as being someone who says, "sign and complete a certain offer". Instead of sign-up and complete an offer, there are many to choose from" etc. Along with, "sign up to lovefilm, rent one DVD, and return and cancel" That would be classed as both offer fraud and as a walk through.

I wouldn't classify screen shots of different stages as a walkthrough. Screen shots, along with descriptions worded accurately, would far better help someone who had no clue what the site was about. I say 'stages', and by this i mean, stages of the RI account, NOT offer completion. So an example of an allowable walkthrough:

(Including screenshots)

1. Sign up
2. Complete an offer
3. screenshots of 'offer completed' and 'no offer completed'
4. screenshots of referrals with and without 'complete' status.
5. screenshots of 'account status' with different stages, e.g. verification, order placed etc

Not allowable:

1. Sign up
2. Complete so and so offer, which included screenshots of each page of the offer.
3. Saying how much to deposit
4. Saying how to cancel, or how to get out of paying so and so.

Hope the above was helpful, its a bit of a difficult topic to explain....

Re: RI Stages - Screen Shots

Thanks for that Ash.

How do you feel about directing users to specific offers? Most of us will have said something along the lines of "I recommend LOVEFiLM because it is free" or "I recommend Coral/Gala for quickest offer credit".

Is that ok?

Yes, i would see that as ok, as you're not directing them directly to a certain offer, they're given more than one choice, and are given choices that they might not have noticed before.

How about " I recommend doing an offer like Coral or Gala as they credit almost instantly and I cant be bothered waiting 2 weeks to see if you do the lovefilm offer properly" lol
