iPod engravings

So today i was browsing the apple site and i see you can get the back of your iPod engraved for free!

I was wondering, when we get our iPods through real incentives. can we request engravings, and how do we go about it?

This only applies if the freebie site buys their apple products from Apple itself. If they buy them from other suppliers e.g. Amazon, they won't be engraved.

afaik, RI do buy from Apple, as mine was from them this week

i'm guessing this won't be an option unless ri get their stock straight from apple but going by the shuffle and nano i got, they came from amazon

....so it seems it wont be engraved. well in that case is there any way i can get engraved after i have recieved it?
Sortof like where you buy football shirts blank then go to a sports srore and get you name printed?

Best bet would be to find a local engraving store, like one that does sports trophys and ask them how must it would cost.

If you do that, please come back here and tell us how much they were asking for it, just out of curiosity.

Apple laser it. If you get it done somewhere else, the warranty will most likely be void.

if i do end up getting it engraved locally i will definatelly nform you on the forum with pricing etc.
