 | Re: Favourite free forumphpBB. phpBB is free and opensource, and just nice. InvisionFree isn't a forum. There are just a company that hosts forums using the Invision Power Board software, which is also very good. Version 1.3 is availiable free, but for version 2 you have to pay. I don't really like vB but it works so can't complain much. |

| Re: Favourite free forumI'm surprised you didn't include YaBB in the list, its nice comfortable software to use, and I think easy to manage, but the code is a little confusing if you try to edit it at all, there are lots of mods but it is quite as well supported as phpBB its also not as fast. its very good if you are limited on what your sever runs, ie if you don't have php, YaBB runs on perl, and YaBB SE runs on MySQL. |

  | Re: Favourite free forumyou also missed off smf (think thats what its called) and CBB (which is a xoops module) There are many many free open source forum software out there, everyone will have a preference down to what they personally look for in a forum software - i like performance, security and the ability to adjust the template to work how i want things to display, and vb fits the bill for that on a side note, i checked out your curent forums, and you do know about copyright laws? copying and pasting exceems conga layout is kinda wrong.....

| Re: Favourite free forumI also like SMF. Its simple and easy to mod. The only forum system i actually dont like is phpBB. Its a bit too big for its boots now but i suppose it will always have the DEV and support. Does anyone want a seachtain ná Gaeilge, TÃ*r Gan Teanga, TÃ*r Gan Chroi (Irish Language Week, Country without a Language, Country Without a Heart) T-shirt for a green. Its rare!
